Welcome To Poppin' Rock Bait & Grocery

Poppin' Rock Bait & Grocery is located at 6705 KY Hwy 519 in Morehead, KY and has been your one stop for Groceries, Camping Supplies, Gasoline, Fishing Tackle & Bait, Boat & Camper Storage & More for years!  The business was started several years ago by Denver Forman.  Working almost around the clock, literally, Denver built the business into one of the most prosperous businesses in the area.  Denver's brother Randy also operated the business for a period of time.   Finally the Formans' decided it was time to hang it up and enjoy life and the store was closed.

Later, the business was acquired & revitalized by Tom & Carol Buckner.  When they too decided they wanted to retire from the store business, the store again changed hands.  This time, it was acquired by Marlene Tackett on April 23, 2007.  Marlene also owns the nearby  Kwik Stop Food Mart.  

Joining Marlene in the operations at Poppin' Rock are her family and friends. Her son, Joe Clark serves as manager, Ila Wilson is the head cook at Poppin Rock.  And occasionally, Marlene's other two sons, Phillip Clark &  Jerrod Tackett can be found doing some of the many chores around the stores. Marlene's husband, Earl, though not an employee can be found loafing around the store from time to time too!
